Dr. Joachim Schneider is the new Head of BioScience at Bayer CropScience

Monheim – Dr. Joachim Schneider has been Head of BioScience at Bayer CropScience since November 1, 2006. Effective the same date, he was appointed to the Executive Committee of Bayer CropScience.

Dr. Joachim Schneider was born in Bensberg, Germany, in 1956. After studying agricultural engineering in Bonn, Germany, and gaining his PhD in plant pathology from the University of Gießen and the University of the South Pacific in West Samoa, he started his career at various positions in Research and Development in 1984, at what was then Bayer’s Crop Protection Business Group in Monheim. In 1990, he went to Kansas City to work at Miles Corporation, a U.S. subsidiary of Bayer, for four years, ultimately as Head of Product Development. In 1994, he returned to Monheim and took over as Head of Biological Development/Herbicides. After various strategic assignments, he was appointed Head of the Herbicides Business Unit in Monheim in 1998. In 2001 he transferred to Bury St. Edmunds, United Kingdom, where he held responsibility for Bayer’s crop protection business in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Following the establishment of Bayer CropScience in 2002, he was appointed Country Head for the United Kingdom and Ireland and Managing Director of Bayer CropScience Ltd. in Cambridge, United Kingdom.
