Inauguration of the Bayer CropScience student lab “Baylab plants”: Professor Friedrich Berschauer, Chairman of the Board of Management (l.) together with ZDF anchorman Karsten Schwanke (r.) and the students Hannah Siep (2.f.l.) and Nadine Fic.
In the Baylab plants student lab, young scientists can spend a whole day carrying out their own curriculum-oriented biology and chemistry experiments.
The experiments focus on major agricultural crops such as rice and canola seed. These plants are investigated in regard to their genetic characteristics, their use as suppliers of nutrients and energy or with a view to improving their traits.
Bayer CropScience’s experimental laboratory makes students aware of the challenges facing agriculture tomorrow.
In the lab, Bayer CropScience employees help young people “get to grips” with the natural sciences.
The new Baylab plants student lab gives young people direct access to scientific research on an international level.
