A second award was granted to a Danish research team which won the award for their patented filtration system, Sorbicell, which is bases on high-tech nano materials. Hubert De Jonge and Gadi Rothenberg have devoted their research to the development of innovative products for environmental monitoring. “The new method has unique advantages compared to known methods. It is not necessary to carry out repeat analyses to establish the mean figure or the total amount over a period of time, as our method ensures a so-called flow-proportional measurement”, explained Hubert De Jonge. This saves on time and costs of analyses.
The Innovation Award was presented at Agro Business Park in Tjele by Eyvind Vesselbo, member of the Danish Parliament and spokesman on environmental affairs for Venstre, Denmark´s Liberal Party and Gerhard Simons.
Bayer CropScience has made a commitment to promote sustainable agriculture on a global scale. Therefore the annual Innovation Award, 10 000 euros, is presented in support of initiatives which promote the production of healthy foods under sustainable conditions.
