But good products alone are not sufficient to secure market leadership in seed treatment. Application technology is another cornerstone of our success. The Seed Treatment Application Center in Monheim, Germany, offers customers and international organizations our application services and machinery support.
Our strategy is to provide protection at germination and in the early seedling stages in order to fully exploit the yield potential of the seeds. This application method also helps to reduce the required dosage of active ingredient compared to other application techniques.
The seed treatment solution offered by Bayer CropScience is rounded out by complementary film coatings, developed and tested for combined application with the seed treatment products. These film coatings reduce abrasion and dust formation, and thus the loss of active ingredient during application, packaging and sowing.
Bayer CropScience, as the global market leader in seed treatment, is strengthened by in-house expertise in seed technologies such as film coating and pelleting processes, represented through the global activities of Cérès Seed Technology, based in France.
The acquisition of Gustafson, NAFTA’s largest seed treatment company, in 2004 completed our portfolio with state-of-the-art application equipment.
