Human Rights

Bayer CropScience promotes the realization of human rights within its sphere of influence and at the same time respects the responsibility of individual governments.

A clear commitment by Bayer CropScience to respecting human rights

The Bayer Group, and with it Bayer CropScience, supports the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and a number of globally recognized declarations for multinational enterprises1. We fully endorse the principles of the United Nations Global Compact initiative, of which Bayer AG is a founding member. The protection and promotion of internationally recognized human rights within the company’s sphere of influence is a major element of the Bayer Group’s corporate policy, and thus of Bayer CropScience’s policy, too.

The Bayer Group has stated this commitment clearly in its document “Bayer’s Position on Human Rights”. This position is part of the Group’s management regulations. Compliance with it is therefore mandatory for all employees.

The document covers the points “Employees and working conditions”, "Harassment and discrimination”, “Freedom of association and collective bargaining”, “Child labor” and “Health and safety” and states the company’s position in unequivocal terms.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Bayer CropScience firmly believes that respect for people is indispensable in achieving sustainable business excellence.
